In the begining, there was just the unfinished house at the edge of the settlement, touching the Mt. Kabir Nature Preserve, at the head of a wadi filled with thorns and boulders.

But redeeming the Land of Israel is a Mitzvah, and the small pockets of soil that had not been washed away in the course of generations of neglect, cried out to return to their task.

Rooting out the thorn bushes and breaking or rolling off the boulders reveals a buried treasure: rich topsoil! |

|
We prepared most of the area for planting grapevines, while the remaining corners- for Teas, Herbs and Spices.
|
|
|
We planted some Fig trees to provide some shade in the parched wadi... and also the tea plants started to grow!
|
|
|
|
|
...and grow, and grow, and grow, until we had to search for more room to store all the bounty!
|
|
|
We harvest in the morning, just after the sun has dried the dew from the leaves, and everyone lends a hand!

Natural drying is achieved on shaded screens by the hot and dry summer breezes.
