Projects RAPID RESPONSE TEAM

The rapid response team consists of 20 residents of Elon Moreh who are specially trained by the army. They are on duty 24 hours a day 7 days a week, ready to accept responsibilities connected with the security of the community. In any situation of a warning of a possible attack or other information from the army, they are on the spot as the community's first line of defense.

Aside from the basic army equipment, the team needs special equipment which can help them in emergency situations.

Today all of the team members carry long M-16 rifles with them at all times. These are clumsy and often and are difficult to maneuver in close quarters inside a building. Shorter shoulder rests are available to alleviate this problem.

Night-vision equipment would give the team much better chance of identifying a potential terrorist at night.

Walkie-talkies are essential for communications between members of the team and the army or local officials. Better equipment is needed to increase the reception.
