Tsaruya Bernstein

Shalom, my name is Tsaruya, I'm nine and a half and learn in 4th grade. I live in the settlement of Yitzhar, and these last few days I rarely leave the settlement because of all the shooting.
Some neighbors from my settlement went on a hike on Mt. Ebal, the same hike where HaRav Herling was murdered, and I was afraid that my neighbors would also die. I was deeply afraid...
The first time I traveled to school since the attacks started, I saw in the village of Hawara barricades of burning tires filling the air with their smoke. I remembered a verse from the song "The Kotel":
"There are people with hearts of stone, and there are stones with a human heart..."

I was very angry with Barak's "shalom", and I pray every day that he will change his mind and not abandon us to the cruel hands of the Palestinians.
Hoping for good news...

Rachel Haviv
Shalom!
Everything started on Shabbat. We sat together eating the Sabbath Dinner, and suddenly the phone rang! "Who could that possibly be?" asked my father. We didn't answer it, and continued our dinner. A minute later the settlement security director arrived, breathless "They're shooting at the gate of the settlement!"
My father ran quickly with his rifle. He called to our neighbors, and they all ran to the gate, amid prayers that it was another false alarm. My mother was very worried- who knows what is happening to them now?

And to you, who are reading this now, why is our Land given away for free? Why always giving in to Arabs, even though they throw stones and shoot at us? Why???

Miriam Badash

Avigail Mevorach

Our names are Miriam Badash and Avigail Mevorach, we live in the settlement Har Bracha next to Shechem. The school where we learn is in Elon Moreh so we travel every morning about 20 minutes.
The last few weeks, because of the situation, we missed out on a lot of learning since it was difficult to travel, and if we did go it was with a lot of fear in our hearts.
We were greatly saddened when we heard of the murder of Hillel Lieberman, and of the murder of HaRav Binyamin Herling who was killed on Mt. Ebal, and of the murder of the Druze soldier at Kever Yoseph.
Even during the Sukkot holidays we didn't really enjoy ourselves, since we couldn't travel because of the security situation, and also because our friends and relatives couldn't come to visit us.
We are greatly grieved that Kever Yoseph was given to the Arabs, and that we won't be able to go there anymore.
Just answer us one question: Why did you take Yoseph haTzaddik away from us?

Tamar Haramati

Today, Elon Moreh is flowering.
Everyone thinks that we are crazy. Why should settlers be considered worth less than others? And I ask you: Tel Aviv, Yerushalayim, Reshon Letzion- aren't they settlements that grew? Look at the stories of the olden days; how Yerushalayim was small and surrounded, how many swamps were drained around Tel Aviv?
I have uncles who say "We support you, continue!" but where are they? Why aren't they helping? If each and every one will do his part- we will raise up a great city!!!

Avivit Mashlof

[editor's note- this is a rhyming poem that my translation doesn't do justice to. M.B.]

Its difficult for us here,
but we've been here for many a year.

We always have the radio on,
and its all because of those "agreements".

"To you I will give this Land",
HaShem promised to three patriarchs.

So on our Land, we will not give in,
since she is the best of all.

If only the Dream will come true!
